The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra is on tour

The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra begins their international tour, showcasing Ukrainian culture through music and art following Russia's invasion in 2022.

  • The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra, composed of 75 musicians, began their second international tour with Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Warsaw.
  • The tour, in collaboration with the New York Metropolitan Opera and Polish National Opera, will hold eight performances in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Britain.
  • Interest in Ukrainian culture has surged following Russia's invasion in 2022, with a newfound global acknowledgment and respect for Ukrainian culture.
  • Foreign rights for Ukrainian books nearly doubled in 2022, and more Ukrainian books have been translated into foreign languages in the past year and a half than in the previous 20 years.
  • Galleries in Europe and North America have rushed to put on shows of Ukrainian art, and museums have re-labelled painters as Ukrainian rather than Russian.
