My crude model of hedge fund management is: Obviously your investors will grumble, when you hand them that 10-year lockup in the good times, but if your investors aren’t grumbling in the good times then you are leaving money on the table.

My crude model of hedge fund management is: Obviously your investors will grumble, when you hand them that 10-year lockup in the good times, but if your investors aren’t grumbling in the good times then you are leaving money on the table.
Similarly your investors will grumble, in the bad times, when they are stuck with that lockup, but you would much rather have them grumbling than taking their money back.
